On September 20th, 2003, Nafa and I went into Room 274 (an unlocked classroom in the College of Music) and played music together for the first time in a year. We had guitars, amps, some assorted pedals, and a Tascam 4 track recorder that I barely knew how to operate. We recorded for a couple of hours and "Challenge" was the result. Of all of our recordings, this is, for me, one of the most organic and unforced bits of magic ever. My only tinkering is in the form of a little drum machine and the contents of a random answering machine tape I stole (yes, actually stole) from a thrift store. I hope you enjoy. This is the Ladies Of Death Row Swimsuit Calendar of my dreams. -Richard
